Meet the Team
Dr. Steven Puderbaugh BS, DVM
Dr. Steven Puderbaugh, our Medical Director, received his BS in Bacteriology in 1979 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1983. During his eight years at Iowa State, he also gained valuable experience working at the National Animal Disease Center on animal disease research projects. While in veterinary school, he married his wife Deb and started raising Golden Retrievers.
Upon graduation, Dr. Puderbaugh joined a mixed animal practice in Burlington, Iowa. After a few months, the Puderbaughs moved east and took a position in Amesbury, MA, where he focused primarily on the small animal and equine portion of the practice. In 1985, Dr. Puderbaugh opened Raymond Animal Hospital in a storefront on Main Street in Raymond. Our new hospital was built in 1989.
Dr. Puderbaugh enjoys the challenge of all aspects of veterinary medicine. He performs most of the orthopedic surgeries and many of the soft tissue surgeries in the practice. He likes the satisfaction of solving a challenging medical case and seeing the resulting success of treatment.
Being involved in the local community is very important to Dr. Puderbaugh. He is a charter member and past president of the Raymond Area Rotary Club and the Raymond Chamber of Commerce. He and his family attend the Candia Congregational Church and are active in community projects including developing the Riverside Bark Dog Park in Raymond. He has also been involved in international humanitarian projects through the International Medical Equipment Collaborative and the Rotary Foundation.
The Puderbaughs currently reside in Candia. Their Lab cross, Frisco, rounds out the family.
